The Arlington County Virginia Insurance and Counseling Assistance Program, or VICAP, helps educate, counsel and assist Medicare beneficiaries in making important health care decisions, and teaches them how to prevent healthcare fraud. VICAP offers free, unbiased individualized counseling, community outreach, and public education about Medicare and other related health insurance topics Volunteers receive extensive training on Medicare, Medicaid and related insurance topics, including Long-Term Care.
VICAP seeks virtual volunteers who are free primarily during business hours on weekdays. Volunteers are also needed to help with outreach and to support and deliver presentations on Medicare and VICAP services to educate the community. Bilingual volunteers are also appreciated. VICAP provides all the training and certification necessary to become a Counselor; while volunteers acquire valuable skills and enjoy a satisfying Volunteer experience.
This volunteer training will introduce participants to the process of certification. Participants will begin their journey to become a VICAP volunteer where they can have a direct, positive impact on the lives of others.
